Happy Easter!
We had a great Easter Sunday out at the new house. We had ham loaves, green bean casserole, corn, macaroni salad, veggies/dip, rolls, pretzel salad, angel food cake, and brownies. The we had another egg hunt outside, flew kites, and ran the remote control car for Bogey to chase. It was a beautiful day – hope we have more just like it!
Easter Morning
The kids FINALLY got out of bed to hunt eggs this morning! More egg hunting will happen this afternoon! But it will be outside on this beautiful day!
Easter Saturday
Making preparations for Easter – decorating the trees and dying the eggs.
Let’s Go Fly a Kite!
Back to the Hotel
Another ferry ride back to the hotel after an educational day of touring the city.
The Grand Bazaar!
Our final destination was The Grand Bazaar with over 4,000 shops! But first we sat through a presentation on REAL Turkish rugs – apparently many of the vendors of rugs in The Grand Bazaar are selling fake Turkish rugs that are actually made in Afghanistan, China, and elsewhere and oftentimes they will “deliver” it to your home so you don’t have to take it back on the plane with you, but it never shows up. This presentation was meant to educate us (and was also a bit of a sales pitch – let’s be honest!).
