It was very sunny early today…and warm! William played out on the deck in his sandbox/water table and in his wading pool.
Play-Doh!
William loves to play with Play-Doh!
At the John Deere Pavilion
Today Will and I went to the John Deere Pavilion to climb on the big equipment. He loved it and gasped when we first walked in and he saw all the tractors.
Birthday Party #2
Mackenzie had her birthday party with friends at the Eldridge Skatepark again this year. They have the most reasonable parties there – we love it! Here she is with all of her friends who came to skate!
Happy Birthday Mackenzie!
Today was Mackenzie’s 9th Birthday! She wasn’t feeling very well, but all the wonderful presents and the cake helped to make her feel a little better!
Happy Mother’s Day!
Happy Mother’s Day! Mom and Dad came over for a cookout today. They brought the most beautiful bouquet of lilacs for me! They came from the backyard at their house – their fragrance makes me think about running around in the backyard as a child in the summertime.
Cleaning Day
Today was the Meeks Family Cleaning Day. Everyone has a chore (or more) to do, even the kids. William cleaned the downstairs toilet and then wiped down the dining room table (with separate wipes/brushes!). Mackenzie tackled the chandelier and the back sliding door. The house looked great afterwards!
Kids Against Hunger
Mackenzie’s Girl Scout Troop assembled over 1500 meals tonight for Kids Against Hunger. They did this in about an hour! The girls ranged in age from 5 to 9 years old. This was a great service project for them to work on to help others. 90% of the meals they assembled will go to Honduras and Nicaragua. The other 10% will stay here locally in the Quad Cities and be distributed to food pantries and soup kitchens.
At the Park
This morning we went to Scott County Park. Tim went for a run and the kids played on the playground.
Beautiful Day
Today was so beautiful! The kids got to play outside a lot. The ice cream truck came by, Mackenzie practiced her cartwheels and headstands and William played by the ditch and under the deck.
