Tonight Mackenzie and Tim played a little drive way tennis while Will threw some tennis balls in the air.
Tennis!
Now that I’ve been playing tennis for several months (and sticking with it!) we decided it was time to introduce the kids to it!
At the Fair
Today, William and I went to the Mississippi Valley Fair. We looked at horses, the exhibit hall with all the prize winning entries, the huge rides, played some games on the midway, and watched a man play with baby tigers. Will had a great time and won a huge sword on the midway!
Playing at Scott County Park
We went to Scott County Park today to play on the equipment and explore the grounds. William had fun checking out the big pond and going down the slides.
Big Storm
After a long, hot, drought this summer, we finally got some rain here. Unfortunately, it was a huge storm that dumped a lot of water on us. The ditch flooded again and was huge in our backyard! After the storm passed, we played inside with William’s toys.
Summer Vacation to Vincennes
This summer we went to Vincennes, IN, for a vacation and to visit Mackenzie, who had been there since May 24th! We spent the week of July 4th enjoying the pool across the street. The weather was terribly hot and the pool made it so nice. Our thanks to Karen and Chuck Owens for their hospitality!

Happy Father’s Day
Today we celebrated Father’s Day with Nana and Pop-pop.
Photos by Will
Here are some photos William took at Nana and Pop-pop’s house.
Fishing
This morning we took Will fishing. He caught several fish right away! Tim caught a few too. I caught one. They were biting a lot when we first got there, but then they slowed down. After fishing we played for a bit on the playground equipment. Then we came home and played in the wading pool.
Happy Anniversary John Deere!
We went to the Deere & Company World Headquarters today to celebrate their 175th anniversary. They had food, music, carnival games, bounce houses, air brush tattoos and so many other things I lost track. It was a wonderful event that was free to all John Deere Employees and Retires and their families. We played several carnival games. At the ring toss, we watched the guy behind us make 4 rings onto the pegs and he won a big stuffed cardinal toy. Then he turned around and handed it to William! He was thrilled! The man was so nice and complimented William endlessly. What a wonderful way to end our day at John Deere!
